Joan Pillsbury of Green Burial Massachusetts will present a talk about how to compare green (or natural) burial with conventional burial in terms of environmental impact, resource consumption, and expense. She will talk about the history of traditional burial before the Civil War and the introduction of embalming, compare green burial and conventional burial we see presently, and show examples of green cemeteries. The talk will end with ways to green your burial if green burial isn’t an option and who to contact in your town to request green burial.
