Dust to dust in Provincetown: Green burials to be considered by the Select Board
PROVINCETOWN – Natural burials may soon be available in the Provincetown Cemetery. The town Cemetery Commission seeks approval of green burials and to set aside 30 plots in the town cemetery. The commission unanimously approved green burials a year ago. Now, after commission members educated themselves further, and worked through discussions with the town Department of Public Works and the town Board of Health, a local funeral home and others, the request will come before the Select Board tentatively scheduled on Feb. 10.
