The Green Burial Council

The Green Burial Council (GBC) is the environmental certification organization setting the standard for green burial in North America. They offer environmental certificates for funeral homes, cemeteries and product manufacturers. The GBC website provides a list of certified green cemeteries and green products throughout the U.S. and Canada, as well as a green burial planning guide.

Massachusetts Funeral Consumers Portal

Provides links to the two Massachusetts affiliates of the national Funeral Consumers Alliance, in Western Massachusetts (FCAWM) and Eastern Massachusetts (FCAEM).

National Home Funeral Alliance

The NHFA empowers families to care for their own dead by providing educational opportunities and connections to resources that promote environmentally sound and culturally nurturing death practices. This website provides a list of cemeteries that allow green burials that are certified by the Green Burial Council as well as those that are not.
